The company was established in 1926 in Thessaloniki with the expertise that Alexandros Apostolidis brought from Constantinople, where he first began his journey in the textile business.
The first relocation of the company took place in 1931 in Konstantinoupoleos Street where it operated for 38 years until 1969. The focus at the time was on both garment dyeing and laundry, as well as textile dyeing.
The company is rebuilt after the war, with Charilaos Apostolidis – the founder’s son – gradually stepping into a leadership role.
New branches open around Thessaloniki. At the same time, textiles are slowly becoming the company’s core business.
The company’s name and scheme evolve into “A. Apostolidis & Son S.A.”. The firm’s operations concentrate on textile processing solely, while garment dyeing and laundry come to an end.
A new relocation takes place in 1969. The company moves away from the city and settles in Thermi, where it remains to this day.
The company expands further with new buildings and equipment. The two sons of Charilaos Apostolidis, Alexandros and Yannis, enter the business.
The company’s name changes to COLORA S.A.
The company continues to expand its buildings and invests in new equipment, including fully automated dyeing machines.
In 2001, COLORA S.A. streamlines its production by making significant investments in modern machinery and launching a new facility dedicated to open-width elastic fabrics.
A new fully-automated rotary printing machine is introduced, along with additional modern machines being installed in new buildings.
